Sacred Heart Cancer Center in Pensacola will introduce two new support groups in August, and will offer additional programs designed for those who are coping with cancer. Groups and programs are open to any patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, including those who are not seeing a Sacred Heart physician. Family members also are invited to participate.

A new leukemia and lymphoma support group will meet Monday, Aug. 9, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the third-floor conference room at Sacred Heart Cancer Center. A light dinner is included in the meeting. The purpose of this group is to assist patients with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, their families, and friends in coping more effectively with illness. The major goals are education and emotional support. The group will meet the second Monday of every month. No registration is required. Call 416-2679 for details.

A new breast cancer support group will meet Thursday, Aug. 19, at 5:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cancer Center, third-floor conference room. This support group is open to all breast cancer patients and their family members, and meetings will be held every third Thursday of the month. No registration is required.
