Sacred Heart Cancer Center in Pensacola offers several support groups and programs designed to benefit patients and their families who are coping with cancer. Groups and programs are open to any patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, including those who are not seeing a Sacred Heart physician. Following are some seminars and classes scheduled in July:

 Tuesday, July 6: “Orientation to Chemotherapy,” 2 p.m., Sacred Heart Cancer Center, third- floor conference room. No registration required. This class meets every Tuesday at the same time, same location. For details, call 416-2770.

 Saturday, July 10: “Man to Man” Prostate Cancer Support Group, 9:30 a.m., Sacred Heart Cancer Center, third-floor conference room. No registration is required. (This support group typically meets the first Saturday of each month, but the date has been changed due to the Fourth of July.) For details, call 438-7627.

 Tuesday, July 13: “Circle of Hope” Cancer Support Group, 2 p.m., Sacred Heart Cancer Center, third-floor conference room. No registration is required. For details, call 416-2679.

 Monday, July 19: “New Directions for Blood Cancer Therapies” Luncheon, 12 p.m. Sacred Heart Cancer Center, third-floor conference room. Guest speaker will be Jeanie McKay, RN, Patient Services Manager, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She will discuss the role of clinical trials in cancer treatment. No registration is required.  Wednesday, July 21: “I Can Cope: Nutrition During Cancer Treatment,” 3 p.m., Sacred Heart Cancer Center, third-floor conference room. This American Cancer Society class will be presented by Edith Baker, a registered dietitian. No registration is required. For details, call 416-2679.

 Wednesday, July 28: A seminar on lymphedema will be presented by Ashley Kelly, a certified lymphedema specialist, at 2 p.m. in Sacred Heart Cancer Center’s third-floor conference room. No registration is required. For details, call 416-2679.
