Sandra Todd-Atkinson, R.N., Ed.D.

PORT ST. JOE, Fla. - Sacred Heart Health System is pleased to announce that Sandra Todd-Atkinson, R.N., Ed.D., will take the reigns as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf in Port St. Joe. The new 25-bed hospital is set to open March 15.
 
With over 27 years of leadership experience in healthcare, Sandra Todd-Atkinson served most recently as the Senior Vice President of Nash Health Care Systems in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, where she managed the nursing and operations aspects of three acute care hospitals. Sandra has also served as the president, vice president, and director of nursing at a number of hospitals and healthcare systems in North Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Barton College, a Master of Business Administration degree from Meredith College, and finally a Doctorate of Education from North Carolina State University.

Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf will feature a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient services, surgical services, a full complement of diagnostic and laboratory services, and a helipad to be used by Sacred Heart's regional air ambulance service to provide rapid transport for trauma or critically ill patients.

The new hospital is part of Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola. Surveys by National Research Corporation have found that for 14 consecutive years, consumers in Northwest Florida have rated Sacred Heart Health System as the healthcare provider with the best reputation and best overall quality.
